If you try to please everyone, you will please no one, including yourself. Because no matter the effort, it will never be good enough for some. To others you might do the right thing the wrong way. For others you might being doing the right thing to slow, at the wrong time, or in the wrong order. And for still others you might be doing everything right, in the right order, at the right time, but they get upset because they don’t like what you are doing and think you should have done something totally opposite of what you did or what you want to do.

So that before long you will be afraid to turn your head for the crowd of hundreds of people shouting a thousand different orders, all expecting you to do it there way and arguing that the person next to them is wrong.

Up, down, left, right, sit down, stand up, twirl around, jump, stand,  oh why can’t they make up their mind what they want me to do? One says be quiet, the other says talk, and yet another says sing. They are so busy arguing about what they want me to do that my head hurts. I just wish someone would take a moment to ask me what I want to do!

 

So avoid the war and do your best to please yourself well staying true to what you know to be right.
