Better is a dull  dinner with the wise

Man what a boring dinner. I didn’t understand one word that was said.

than a feast in the house of fools.

The meal was splendid. It was a feast fit for a king, but what a disaster! When trouble and chaos knocked on their door, those fools welcomed them right in like they were  honored guest.  And true to form, it was not long before disaster struck. I was lucky to get out of their in one piece, I’m never going to eat their again.
