My Cold Wet Nose
By Katherine B. Parilli
My cold wet nose I press into your side,
Not to bug,
Or terrify.
But a show of love,
And out of a desire to play.

Oh my beloved Auntie, for your attention I do long.
My cold wet nose I press into your side,
Because for your attention I long.
For your love I require,
To give purpose to my day,
And to bring joy to my dark eyes.
My cold wet nose I press into your side,
So that if one day I am gone,
You will remember,
You will recall,
That I gave you my all,
And that I freely gave you my love.

My days of wandering this earth may be over, but my heart full of love you will always remember.
