The Back to School Blues

The glory days of summer had but yesterday arrived.

With buzz and whirl of activity,

the summer sky blistering down,

the happy world declared,

Hurray vacation is here!

Hurray no more books, no more homework, no more school!

 

 

But in a blink,

a dizzy whirl,

before my bark of joy did fade,

behold what terrible woe,

the back to school blues are already here again!

What! When did I blink? Summer vacation started yesterday, it can’t be back to school time already.
